Almost A Year!

Wow, it's hard to believe that this time last year, I was finishing up the final touches of my wedding.I had my dress, the girls had theirs. My flowers were almost done, decorations were being finished up, the ceremony was all planned, reception was being finished. DJ had met with us and was given our list of songs we HAD to have played (and he was SO awesome, the best ever).

Of course I was getting nervous, but excited too. I wasn't thinking about leaving my family as much as I'd bemoving and be with Matt all the time. Only after the wedding, honeymoon, and move did it sinnk in I'd left my family. I did okay through it because we'd go visit them mostly every weekend, or every other weekend, until recently, it's been almost a month since I've seen them. It got to me last weekend and I freakedout for a moment and was crying, but Matt hugged me tight and let me cry on his shoulder.

A lot has happened in a year, and I can definitely see myself different now than what I was. I was looking at life, love and marriage through rose colored glasses. I imagined this fairy tale where everything was perfect and nothing happened to make anything hard or difficult. But then reality set in.

Don't get me wrong. I LOVE Matt and being married to him. Ijust didn't know it would take so much work and time. I thought things just happened. I've learned a lot. I've learned to control my emotions better and to be mature. I wouldn't trade anything I learned.

A year has almost gone by since our wedding, and it's had to believe. It's gone by so fast!! I'm excited that we'll be working on two years in a short week. I'm not sure if we have any travel plans for our anniversary or not, but that's okay :) I think we're going on a vacation with my family in May, so we'll get some alone time then lol!

I can't wait to see what this coming year brings us. I'm up for anything. Whether we travel a lot, or stay home; move or stay put; have a baby, or get a new dog. It's all up in the air, and I'm going to enjoy every minute of it!
