Our One Year Anniversary

So, we made it one year! Wow, lol It was one tough year, getting used to everything. We've learned a lot though, I believe. I know I did. I know I posted about our one year coming up, and included some things, so I don't want to repeat things, so I'll just blog about our anniversary day :)

We had spent Sunday night at mom and dad's, so when I woke up, I got dressed and went downstairs. Mom and dad wished me a Happy Anniversary and gave us a couple of suggestions about celebrating that night, which was nice. I woke Matt up and asked him to think about it while he showered and went out shopping for a gift for me. When he got back, he asked mom to help him wrap the gifts he got haha. So cute.

As soon as he finished wrapping, he came out and asked "Do you want to open gifts now?" lol he can't wait that long :-p So we did. We sat on the living room floor and handed each other our cards. His was totally cute. I forgot to take pictures of it though. Then he wanted me to open my gifts first, so I did.

The first one he gave me was a Kindle Touch!!! An e-Reader! I was SOOOOO excited. I LOVE that thing! lol I've already bought 2 books and finished them! (by the way, The Hunger Games are an AMAZING trilogy! and the movie is good too!) The second gift was a purple leather cover for it!

So then he opened his, which I got him two books, one is a collection of all Zombie stories and the other is the Zombie Apocalypse Survival guide lol Then I also got him a tinted glass English Pint Beer glass with his Monogram. (again, no pictures, oops lol)

So then we went out to lunch at Panera and I downloaded one book to my Kindle. Then we met mom and my aunt out at Walmart, where we decided to just grill steaks on their grill and grilled veggies and baked potatoes. It was SOOO good. Matt marinated the steaks in that special way he does lol

After dinner, we got our cake topper out that had been frozen for a year and cut into it. I was nervous because we had heard so many horror stories! But we tasted it and it tasted just like it did at our reception! I was amazed lol Here is a picture:

Tada! lol

Other than that, nothing else went on that day. We packed up our luggage and made the drive back home so we could go back to work on Tuesday.

Well, that was our anniversary re-cap! lol
