The Dickinson's First Christmas

Merry Belated Christmas! lol I was so busy with all the traveling we had to do over the past few days that I haven't even thought of blogging about Christmas.... Now here I am with a free moment, and I thought to myself "Self, you should blog." rofl

Our first Christmas being married was different... it FLEW by!!! I miss Christmas so much already lol But it was nice. We started celebrating the 24th. Mom and dad have a tradition from ever since I can remember. We started off by going to the Christmas Eve candle light service at church. It was really pretty :) Then Matt and I went on a carriage ride around town!!! We were supposed to have them for our wedding, but unfortunately they didn't call us back, so we had a smokin' hot red trans am to "get away" in lol That is beside the point...

Here is the horse

There is the carriage
How cute is that??? I LOOOVED hearing the clopping of the hooves... It was so romantic :D Imagine how we would have looked on our wedding day, Matt in his tux and I in my gown!!!

ANYWAY, I'm off topic again lol

So after the carriage ride, we went back to my parent's place and had the traditional cheese and crackers and shrimp with cocktail sauce. Then I helped Sarah wrap the rest of her gifts, and mom and dad with other gifts. Around 1am, we went to bed lol

Sarah came and woke us up around 8 I think, but we didn't get out of bed til 8:30... I was soooo tired. I could tell Matt was too. We had breakfast around 9. Dad's traditional Christmas day breakfast: homemade sausage gravy and biscuits. Can you say YUM? lol

Then we cleane dup from breakfast and then sat down opening gifts. It was a lot of fun. Matt got me a SUPER comfy robe and matching slippers :) I love it. I got a lot of stuff! So did Matt. Then Grandma and grandpa came up around 1.... I had fallen back to sleep on the living room floor, got cold, and had went back to bed haha  Once my grandparents got here, we ate lunch, which was seriosuly, the best Christmas lunch ever!!!! Ham, green bean casserole, sweet potato casserole, rolls, and cheesy potato dish. Then of course pumpkin pie, a pecan pie, and fruit salad.

After we ate, we opened gifts form them as well as Nicole. It turned out to be a really nice Christmas. Unfortunately, we had to hurry and leave to go see Matt's family, but by the time we got there, I was not in the mood to be festive. Something has been going around lately, and I think I caught it :( Of course, cigarette smoke being blown directly in my face multiple times didn't help. So I went and sat on the sofa for awhile, feeling like poop. I ended up feeling a little better and played Kinect sports with his Aunt, then some cards, then went to bed around.... ohhh I don't even remember lol

I don't think I took any pictures of us at either place for Christmas.... I'm lame.... haha But yeah, that was our first Christmas being married :) Wow, this was long!!! Hope you enjoyed it!!
